Typically served at Mexican parties. For decades, Mexican women have made it sound like Asado was a very complicated dish to prepare... it's not. This recipe serves 6 people, to be accompanied with rice, avocado slices, and tortillas... oh yeah, y una coquita.
Ingredients:
6 pork chops (I use boneless)
6 guajillo chilies
10 almonds
6 cloves of garlic
2 tsp Whole Oregano
1/4 tsp Cumin
Salt to taste
2 tsp water
2 tsp oil
Instructions:
1. Chop pork chops into bite size pieces, sprinkle with salt, and cook in 1 tsp oil
2. In another pan, sauté the almonds and chilies in the remaining oil
3. Blend the water, almonds, chilies, garlic, oregano, and cumin
4. Add mixture to the pork chops and cover
5. Add water and salt as needed
6. Cook until desired tenderness is reached
*Some people use toasted crackers instead of almond
