Horchata Recipe!


Can't have tacos or tortas without it! Took me a bit to perfect it... enjoy!



Ingredients:

3 L of water total

2 cups of Rice

3 sticks of cinnamon

2 tbsp Vanilla Extract (I use Molina Brand)

3 cups of Milk (I like using non-fat)

1 1/4 cups of Sugar

4 tbsp La Lechera condensed milk

Ground Cinnamon (for garnishing)


Instructions:

1. In a bowl, disintegrate cinnamon sticks, and pour rice over them

2. Pour 4 cups of boiling water into bowl and stir

3. Let sit until cool or room temperature (about 45 minutes)

4. Once cooled, add to blender cup and blend

5. Strain contents into pitcher using a strainer/sieve

6. Run the rest of the water through the strainer

7. Add vanilla and sugar to the pitcher and stir

8. In a bowl, blend the milk and condensed milk with a fork, and pour into the pitcher

9. Chill (to meld flavors)

10. Serve with ice and garnish with ground cinnamon



*Feel free to decrease qty. of sugar and La Lechera
